Mayor Mike Bloomberg performing with cast of “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” one of four Broadway musicals that joined him on stage for his final Inner Circle rebuttal.

The Inner Circle put on its latest musical revue of city/state/national politics before a sold-out audience at the New York Hilton Hotel on Saturday, March 23, 2013.

After the reporters’ parody, Mayor Michael Bloomberg responded with his own song-and-dance rebuttal replete with the casts of four hit Broadway shows. It was the mayor’s 12th and final on-stage performance in his three terms as the city’s elected leader.

Here are some reports/reviews of the show:

In “Last Gulp,” the character of Mayor Mike boards a time machine to travel back to meet famous historical figures in the hope of finding the right person to succeed him at City Hall.  2013 President Glenn Schuck shares the credit for a great show with the entire membership and reminds us that proceeds help more than 100 New York City-based charities.

Comments from Inner Circle Members/Friends:

To my Inner Circle friends and family,  I am so sorry I couldn’t be with you this year. Personal matters took priority.  Break a leg or two tonight and tomorrow.  Will be with you in spirit and back next year to play the super slut of the moment or maybe at this point the slut’s grandmother. Love you All and MISS you. Lynne White

No matter what is thrown in our path (key members taking off to Rome, schedules that make it difficult to get to rehearsals, illness, limited time on the big stage, we always pull it off. We do this thing of ours because we love to be on the stage, because we love politics and roasting our politicians, and because we feel so honored to donate to our fav orates charities. We also have a unique camaraderie and many of us have become more than colleagues; we are friends for life.  Shelly Strickler
I hope everyone had a great show! Sorry I couldn’t take part this year. Next year!!  Eileen Lehpamer

Thank you again for including me in “The Last Gulp.” I had a wonderful time getting to know everyone and preparing for the show.
I am already really looking forward to next year. Hilary Weissman

It was absolutely the best one I’ve seen in years!!  Seriously, it was tight, the writing was great and some of the voices blew me away! The tribute to Koch was sweet too. Jill Mindlin (Jill’s late Dad, Bob Mindlin, was a member.)

Glenn: Just wanted to let you know Melinda and I enjoyed the show immensely.I remarked to Melinda that Irene Cornell actually pulled off theMelinda Katz look better than sometimes Melinda does.  Great job. Curtis Sliwa
