Mayor Bill de Blasio relied on celebrity friends to help poke fun at himself and his new administration in a shorter, understated rebuttal at the Inner Circle Show, March 22, 2014. Mayor Bill made jokes about his tardiness, his progressive ideology, his ups and downs after three months in office, and his fresh frustration with the City Hall press corps in front of a packed ballroom at the New York Hilton.

As noted in the reviews, the Inner Circle’s own show, “Stuck With de Bill,” was a fast-paced production of song and dance, jokes and parody about the new mayor, Governor Andrew Cuomo, President Obama and pols everywhere.
President Beth Karas was the perfect host welcoming the mayor and several hundred guests and paying tribute to two of our members who passed in the last year, Bob Teague (’70) and Stan Brooks (’90), and a special celebration marking Gabe Pressman’s (’51) 90th birthday last month.
Actors Cynthia Nixon and Steve Buscemi and political activist the Rev. Al Sharpton joined de Blasio onstage for his rebuttal.
